Dance Ritual Gets DEEP

This Saturday, I get to return to the main stage at DEEP with two of my personal faves and mentors Marques Wyatt and Louie Vega a/w Phoenix Solstice main man Senbad! I’m also looking forward to kickin it with my brothers Vikter Duplaix and Mark de Clive-Lowe as they make their debut in the DEEP lounge!

DIVE 4 Japan

It can take months or even years before our brothers and sisters in Japan return to some semblance of normal life. The Japanese are resilient people of honor but can always use a helping hand in the aftermath of a devastating disaster.

Join us on this Saturday April 23 at “DIVE for Japan” with music and dancing as we do what we can to raise hope and awareness for those victimized by the earthquake and tsunami events in March 2011.

All net proceeds will benefit Help for Japan and the Dance4Japan movements. Your generosity can go a long way.

Please join Roy Davis Jr, myself, and a host of other local talent this Saturday August 7 for a special charity early evening (6PM) event at the Se’s Siren Pool. We are raising funds to build a well in central Africa so women and children can have access to clean water!

Summer is always a great season for music, you know the “groove that soothes, that moves romance!” In this show, I sprinkled some down to earth feel good numbers that will hopefully bring some smiles by the pool! LA’s Estranjeros’ interpretation of “Nothing” by Janet has become an instant floorfiller along with other cuts from Dennis Ferrer (wow), Quentin Harris, Atjazz, and more! My man Stephen Rigmaiden’s dub of “Everything in its Right Place” (Radiohead) is another heater and Lisa Shaw closes out the show with a lovely midtempo track off of Julius Papp’s forthcoming album on NeoDisco. Still “hungover” with music from WMC Miami, I sprinkled some new gems in this week’s shows along with a few anthems that seem to be infectious at my gigs lately. Dixon’s edit of “Dance Dance Dance” by Lykke Li is a dancefloor fave, especially among the ladies! R.Kelly’s “Be My #2″ was another joint I heard in Miami (Terry Hunter’s mix) and my man Stacy Kidd rocks a nice new mix for “all you hatin m*thaf*ckas!” LOL. Other numbers I hope you dig are my edit of Penner’s “Presence of Another Man”, “I Love It” by Joe Dipadova, Andy Compton and Diviniti’s “Where I Want to Be” and a host others. And last but certainly not least, I end the show with “Loungin” by Donald Byrd and a man who sadly left us this week but whose hip-hop legacy will live on.
