This set was mixed & recorded live by DJ ALA from the Siren Pool Party on Sunday June 21, 2009 @ the luxurious Se San Diego Hotel. Nice summer rhythms in front of a great crowd to close the evening!

DEEP LA

The tour hit the road last week with amazing gigs in Vegas and DEEP LA. The intimate setting of Cafe Soleil in Vegas is perfect for the true house aficionados who joined me in celebrating the soul of House music. Vegas is not all glitz and mash-up pool parties – they know how to get deep! Speaking of which, DEEP on Sunday in LA was incredible. It felt like San Diego’s congregation of House made the pilgrimage to the Vanguard to witness San Diego’s finest rock the main room and deep soul lounge. Props to my fellow local DJs Duane, Lil Ryan, and Beatnick for a mission accomplished and our debt of gratitude is owed to our supporters who made the night magical! And I can’t forget to thank our extended family @ DEEP (Marques, Joplin, Zanne, Cee, Nedda, Thuy, Tak) for hosting us proper and for all the love given. Can’t wait to do it again soon

Tonight @ DEEP – DJ ALA with San Diego Gets DEEP

I’m really looking forward to sharing the stage tonight with Marques Wyatt and my friends reppin San Diego to the fullest. We have a small community of house music aficionados here but they are passionate nonetheless. And I can’t wait for the DEEP fam to hear us do our thing. My man Duane and Bar D’s Lil Ryan will also strut their stuff while veteran dj Beatnick throws down some classic soul and funk in the DEEP soul lounge with resident Joplin! It’s gonna a great night.

This week at DEEP, we bring you a unique event, featuring artists from our southern California sister city of San Diego. The house scene in SD, be it small, has always turned out a community of music lovers who know their stuff. Supporting regular nights such as Bar Dynamite Wednesdays and Dive Saturdays at Candelas, it has produced the djs we are hosting this week. 

Joining me in the main room, Duane of Citydeep Music and Seasons Recordings, a producer and dj, he brings his skillfully flavored sets of soul and deep grooves, has been hosting his own longtime event, Bar D on Wednesdays, and knows how to please any crowd he’s playing for. Dj ALA of Dive Radio and resident of Candelas Saturdays is a longtime DEEP supporter, always making the journey up to LA to be a fan of house music and it’s djs, and throw his hands up and let it go… He is taking his show on the road, with DEEP being his second stop of his summer tour. His radio show on ssradiouk.com continues to being house music to the masses, with a different feel every week, yet always staying true to sounds that have brought him this far.
